SPECIAL THANKS TO CYCLING-EX.COM FOR THE INFORMATION AND IMAGES CONTAINED IN THIS ARTICLE.

This weeks “Japanese Bicycle of Japanese Steel classic bicycle design from Japanthe Week” is another Cherubim masterpiece.  In 2012, when LEVI’S unveiled their “LEVI’S COMMUTER,” they introduced the Cherubim Bicycle as a concept bike in collaboration. Subsequently, LEVI’S made it available for limited order production. The bike displayed is believed to have rolled off the production line in 2013.

In the picture above, the matte black painted frame showcases both the CHERUBIM and LEVI’S logos in black.

Sporting a semi-drop handle, this bike offers riders a comfortable and aerodynamic grip position.  Coupled with, a convenient thumb shifter.

Furthermore, a noteworthy feature on this Cherubim bicycle is its utilization of Shimano Alfine internal shifting and reliable disc brakes.

The BB is eccentric, allowing for easy chain tension adjustment. Shinichi Konno explained that they chose an eccentric design to keep the wheel-seat tube distance constant, rather than using a sliding mechanism.

A very small fender fits perfectly on the fork. The cost back then was $4,725, including taxes, after converting from yen to dollars.
